Speech by the President of the Electricity Sector Workers Union – Chairman of the Conference

Your Excellencies, distinguished ladies and gentlemen.

We warmly welcome you to this great national event, which we are honored by your sponsorship and attendance.

   The idea of establishing this conference emerged due to the large number of accidents in the electrical energy sectors and in an effort to activate the care of safety systems in most operations in the sector, especially after the Corona pandemic, and then seeking to raise the level of concern for the lives of workers. This conference came about.

Which covers various topics related to occupational safety and health in electrical energy systems and operations, the impact of climate change and the transition to green energy on energy workers, then ideal safety practices and its impact on electrical energy systems and operations.

This conference is considered an important event to discuss the safety of electrical operations and a role model for cooperation between legislative sectors and energy industry sectors in order to develop safety in all areas of their work, as experts from these sectors come together to exchange experiences, discuss challenges, and present stories of success and excellence, case studies, issues related to legislation, and others. Developments and innovations. It is also worth noting that the conference includes 15 key speakers and more than 20 bodies with specialization and active participation from several leading companies, institutes and centers from different countries.

To this end, the Electrical Workers Union Council, through its administrative body, began putting forward the idea of this conference to attract distinguished national men, leaders of companies and institutions operating in Jordan, and union leaders to participate in this conference in an effort to help remove obstacles to the sustainability of projects and investment in them to create jobs and safe livelihoods for workers in the sector. …and establishing a practical methodology for the culture of occupational safety and health and safe behavior in the workplace.
